Music

The best memories I have from high school were centered on the music program. I attended Lampeter-Strasburg High School in Lampeter, PA. L-S is known for its fine music program, and I was able to take advantage of this program through 9 years of schooling, mainly focusing on the alto saxophone as well as singing.

Reflecting back on the music program, I was taught far more than just music there. I learned how to be courteous to people, how to be an effective leader, and many other valuable social lessons that I wouldn’t have learned without experiencing the band and choral programs.

NBS

While a student at Millersville University studying Speech Communication and Broadcasting, I had the privilege of serving as treasurer, then vice president, of our local chapter of the National Broadcasting Society. I attended several local and national conferences, and in Miami, was named Student of the Year for my work in setting up a video exchange program between member universities.

I had great fun serving in these roles and having the chance to meet other students with a passion for all things TV. Occasionally, I run into some of these folks in my workplace, and anticipate that the connections will serve me well down the road.

Digital Client Specialist

I am currently a Digital Client Specialist at WGAL-TV, the NBC affiliate serving Harrisburg/Lancaster/Lebanon/York, PA. The station is owned by the Hearst-Argyle station group.

In short, at my current role at the station, I am in charge of scheduling and maintaining local web advertising campaigns on our website, WGAL.com. I enjoy this job very much because it gives me the chance to work with every department at the station, as well as folks all around the country. I get to be a web geek and stay a couple feet away from one of the best television station operations in the country.

While working at the station, I have occasionally been called upon to create advertising campaigns for clients. Some of those advertising samples can be found here.
